Catherine Carter is currently a student in the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College at the University of Mississippi where she is a pre-med and psychology major. She has achieved the Chancellor’s Honor Roll for two consecutive years and was a member of the Chancellor’s Leadership Class. Additionally, Catherine was awarded the Robert M. Carrier and Robert C. Byrd scholarships and is an active member of Alpha Lamba Delta, Chi Omega Sorority, and Reformed University Fellowship.
In 2003, Catherine Carter was named Hinds County’s Junior Miss and was a top ten finalist in Mississippi’s Junior Miss, where she received the top Scholastic Achievement Award. Catherine was honored in Washington, D. C. by President and Mrs. Bush as Mississippi’s Presidential Scholar. Catherine Carter released a self-titled CD of contemporary Christian music in 2004 and is an active member of First Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi. Catherine Carter is the author of the book Anna's Choice.
